Short term disability is followed by long term disability – -

Your doctor must re-certify you for long term disability

Workers compensation does not cover mental disorders as requirements to
qualify you for this would preclude you from being approved.

You can’t get workers comp, unless you have a work related injury – which you apparently don’t. And you can’t buy income protection, AFTER you’ve lost your income, which you have.

I think you’re going to be SOL on this. Better talk to your doctor, about figuring out what you can do to get back to work sooner.

mental illness is not eligible for workmans comp – did your job cause the mental illness? if yes, you would have been on WC from the start

do you have Long Term Disability Insurance coverage with Lowes? STD only lasts so long with any company

Have you been receiving Soc Sec Disability? – If not, you probably should have been – contact the Soc Sec Admin

If you were receiving short-term disability, and it ran out, then file for long-term disability.

Worker’s compensation only applies to injuries or illnesses that were caused by something that happened at work. Mental illness generally does not qualify (except in rare cases, such as a person with post-traumatic stress disorder that clearly results from a workplace shooting).

No, you can’t get workers compensation. If you have long term disability you can switch to that. Otherwise you’ll likely be out of luck…other than unemployment perhaps.
