Question: How does the transaction part of eBay work?
After you win an item on eBay, (or Buy It Now), what happens next? I have never bought something on eBay before. I currently have a Paypal account that is tied to my bank account. I am Canadian if that matters.

As long as the seller you are buying from accepts International orders (thier Terms of Sale, TOS will specify this), you will simply bid on (and wait for the auction to end) or use Buy it now to purchase directly. If you use Buy it now, as soon as you confirm your purchase, you will be taken to a payment page. Click the Pay Now button and you will be taken to your invoice. You will look over the invoice, add insurance if offered and you want it, and then you will click the button that says Paypal. You will then be taken to the Paypal website, where you will log on and will be presented with a payment page with the specifics of the auction. Click the orange pay now button and you are all set! The seller will be notified, you will receive an email confirming the payment.
If you are bidding on an auction, wait for the auction to end. If you have won, the process is pretty much the same, except that you will log into ebay and go to your My Ebay page. On that page, under Buying you will find any auctions that still need payment. Click the Pay Now button by the item that you are going to pay for and then you will be taken to the payment page as above, then will log into Paypal, etc. It is really easy to do, and Ebay is completely addicting. As a seller on Ebay, I would suggest that you pay promptly, follow the sellers terms, and you will have a fantastic shopping experience. Best wishes and happy shopping!
