I used to chop oak and sell it all for 2k(whole inventory) but now I only get 600 gp for a whole inventory, when I try a higher price nobody buys. So what is a good way to make money on runescape with the grand exchange update? Thanks.

If your a member, buying flax for really cheap, then making it into bowstring then selling the bowstrings.
If you are a non member, buy cow hides, then tan them and sell them

well, depending on your mining level you can still make money.
this may be a bit slower than you oaks but its worth it.
if you are below 15 mining and below 30 smithing, then you should buy all of the copper OR tin you can, then go mine the ore you didn’t buy. smith these into bronze bars and sell. Do this until 30 smithing. By then, you should have plenty cash. Buy all of the coal you can, and go mine half that number in iron. then make steel bars, and sell them. if you’d like to profit even more, make them into cannonballs (members).
This method is the main source of income for my level 3 skiller, so i know it works. (NOTE: prices are a little messed up due to Free Trade, but everything should settle and begin to return to more normal prices.)

If you don’t want to do that, i recommend combat if you are a free player. kills cows for cowhides or hill giants for big bones etc. for money.
Your best bet is probably to wait for prices to settle a little either way.

buy strength potions, lobsters, rune scimitars, rune 2hs and buy them for low at the ge. then walk over to edgeville and sell them for like an extra 1k. i think str potions are like 800 gp sell them for 1.5k. people will buy them trust me. its called merchanting.
