I have recently wanted to purchase savings bonds. You can buy bonds electronically for for and paper bonds for for a dollar bond. I really need to know in simple terms what is the benefit of electronic if you can get the paper bonds for half price? I don’t quite understand. Please explain.

They are not “half price” compared to electronic bonds – they are the same. Electronic bonds can only be redeemed “electronically” while paper bonds can be redeemed at a bank. That’s about the only difference.
