I have just started my second full time semester at college. I’m having a little bit of trouble adjusting my time for my new schedule. I’m a very routine-driven person, so it takes me a while to adapt when my entire schedule changes.
Anyone have any advice how I can better manage my time between studying, sleep, class and fun?

I’m normally a very messy, unorganized person. This is my senior year in college. I have a paper planner (book form) and write down all the due dates for papers, exams, projects, appointments, etc. Everyday, I also write down the things I have to read, print out, write, etc. If I know I’m going to hang out with a friend, I also write it down.
I also have important dates that if I forget, I’m screwed put in the calendar of my cell phone. I don’t have a blackberry or an iphone, but I also write these appointments in a notepad/MS world document in my computer, right on my desktop.
This is not completely fool-proof, but trust me, I’ve gone a semester without doing this and more things slipped through the cracks than when I do a system like this.
You don’t have to do a system like this, it’s just what works for me. I think once you commit to some kind of planning system, it’ll get a lot easier and more natural so you don’t have to work as much on it.

I would take a training class. The most common mistake when it comes to time managment is that you can manage time. The truth is that you cannot manage time, you must manage your life around time.
These classes will teach you different steps to manage your life around time and also show you how to avoid time wasters.
